Vice President, Engineering and Finance

Tristan was the first addition to the Catapult team in 2020, having been in the industry since 2008. Initially at Southern Methodist University for pre-med, he was recruited to the oil and gas industry and hasn’t looked back. Tristan returned to Southern Methodist for an MBA in Energy Finance to increase his skill set in financial analysis, forecasting, deal valuations, and data analytics.

At Catapult, Tristan helps keep the business running smoothly and growing by overseeing financial processes and evaluation of new assets. His team’s role is critical not only to Catapult but to NACCO as a whole. He’s passionate about the friendly, sincere atmosphere at Catapult and committed to building a culture that encourages people to do whatever it takes to get the job done—even if it’s not in their comfort zone or a part of their job title. Tristan also leads transformational analytics efforts across all NACCO business units, helping to move the company forward with data-driven decisions. His focused dedication and authenticity are vital and appreciated on the team.

Tristan and his wife, Dr. Brita Andercheck, are the proud owners of a rescue mutt named Cash that they believe to be an American Dingo. Tristan’s other interests include Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, and games of any kind—video and board games.
